Our venture has benefited from plenty of serendipitous moments (and lots of broken kitchenware, help from our family and friends, and dogged determination, too), but maybe the most fundamental good fortune we had was meeting and launching the company in Boston. The culture of entrepreneurship and resources and media which support it are invaluable: you'd be crazy not to take advantage, but shouldn't take it for granted.

I've become a quick fan of BostInnovation.  But there's also the Dart crew (@DartBoston), Green Light Distrikt for cleantech (@greenldistrikt), and of course Scott Kirsner's great coverage and evangelism @ScottKirsner. In the food/bev category, we've got great inspiration and examples in Nantucket Nectars, Stacys snacks, Food Should Taste Good, and Clover (@CloverDWY), to name a few. And the Boston College community continues to inspire, producing new ventures across the spectrum, including: Oyssa (@ShopOdyssa), Wepay (@WePay), Thredup (@jamesreinhart), SEAC (@SEACBOSTON), and Overshores Brewery.

I like them Boston apples.
